Last week, we held our Annual Conference, an opportunity for the local voluntary sector to get together and for us to talk about the last 12 months as well as our plans for the following 12 months.

In addition to this, our annual conference is an opportunity for local groups to find out information from speakers based on the biggest issues of the year. This year’s speakers included

  • Gary Vaux from Hertfordshire County Council’s Money Advice Unit who provided the latest figures around the cost of living crisis and the support available from the County Council
  • Danielle Levy from Herts Mind Network discussing some of their services and some basic wellbeing tips
  • Fabian Hiscock from Three Rivers Museum Trust talking about the history in Three Rivers and an offer to come and visit the museum

In addition to those speakers, we were also delighted to have Sarah Nelmes, Leader of Three Rivers District Council and Watford’s elected Mayor Peter Taylor to share their thoughts and reflections on the last 12 months and on the work of their respective councils in the cost-of-living crisis.

We felt the event was amazing and thank you to all of you who have provided feedback to us, either online or at the event. We would also like to thank Rickmansworth Golf Club for allowing us to host the event and for Andrew Wakeford and the students at West Herts College for providing us with the food for the event.
