W3RT CVS has worked for over forty years to strengthen the local voluntary sector in Watford and Three Rivers and supports voluntary sector organisations towards becoming welcoming, effective, accountable and sustainable.

In relation to becoming more sustainable, W3RT CVS recently hosted a workshop for voluntary organisations to help them understand how they could reduce the impact that they had on the environment whilst still providing services and support to the communities across Watford and Three Rivers. The workshop was delivered in partnership with Jo Heneker from Sust Consulting and had three key aims:
- To help attendees understand how their purpose links to environmental sustainability?
- To help attendees to outline their goals relating to environmental sustainability and work toward achieving them?
- To help attendees recognise the true impact on your organisation and how to measure success?
As the workshop concluded it became quite clear the organisations attending are at the beginning of their journey towards reducing their environmental sustainability, but are passionate and keen to take action.

After the event, all the attendees said they found the workshop extremely useful, had met all their expectations and in particular attendees said:
- ‘The workshop was extremely useful because it allowed us to find a starting point for this measuring our impact and to then progress from there’
- ‘Jo was an excellent trainer, and the slides were very good and tailored towards small charities’
