What you need to know about the Big Help Out.  A campaign to get more people volunteering

What is The Big Help Out Campaign?

The Big Help Out campaign aims to showcase the ways in which volunteering can benefit both communities and individuals who participate. Its long-term goal is to encourage more people who traditionally don't volunteer to get involved. To mark The King’s Coronation thousands of organisations across the country are getting together to give us all the chance to help out in our own local communities.

Starting on Monday 8th May there will be opportunities for everyone to join in. Whether you are a big or small organisation, a community group or an individual, everyone can get involved, with opportunities for helping hands of all shapes and sizes!

The importance of volunteering and The Big Help Out

Volunteering is important because it allows individuals to give back to their communities, help those in need, and contribute to social causes that they care about. It also provides opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and building social connections.

The Big Help Out campaign aims to promote volunteering and increase participation among those who traditionally do not volunteer. By showcasing the benefits of volunteering and encouraging more people to get involved, the campaign is helping to create a culture of volunteering and community involvement in the UK.

How can organisations promote their volunteer vacancies?
