Every year, we have funding available to for local voluntary organisations in Watford and Three Rivers to apply for to allow them to work with consultants or bid writers for work where W3RT CVS lacks the capacity to provide the dedicated amount of time required to be able to support the organisation. With competition for funding being at an all time high, this support can be invaluable for organisations without the capacity to employ a dedicated bid writer.

Last year, W3RT CVS awarded Home Start Watford and Three Rivers £2,000 to allow them to work with a bid writer to submit a series of funding applications including to Children in Need and the Garfield Weston Foundation. For those who are unaware, Home Start Watford and Three Rivers recently celebrated their 30th anniversary as a charity and provide free support to families with children under the age of five across Watford and Three Rivers.

We were delighted to hear back from Home Start who told us that they were successful in the applications they submitted using the money awarded to them by W3RT CVS and received £20,000 from the funders.

Sophie Linington, CEO of Home Start thanked W3RT CVS for their support and said ‘We were delighted to receive a grant from W3RT towards the cost of working with an external bid writer. As funding gets tighter, with more competition, being able to work with a professional enabled us to secure funding of £20,000 towards our counselling and family support services for families in Watford and Three Rivers’. She added that ‘with the increased demand for our services and the increased costs of providing our services the support provided by W3RT CVS was invaluable and we cannot thank Alex and the rest of the CVS Team for their support and investment in our organisation.'

We look forward to working with Home Start over the coming months, helping them continue to support families across Watford and Three Rivers through the ongoing Cost of Living Crisis. You can find out more about them by visiting their website here.
