Last week, in partnership with Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce, we held our first Corporate Volunteering event at PWC’s offices in Watford. Designed to bring businesses and charities together, this event aimed to highlight the importance of corporate or employer-supported volunteering (ESV) and how charities can use ESV to their benefit.

We are delighted that over 40 charities and businesses were able to attend the event to share their experiences with the other attendees. In particular, we heard from Hilton Hotels who shared their experiences volunteering at Random Café the week before, and from Pickfords who have set up a long-term partnership with the Salvation Army in the local area, helping them with their activities, fundraising and delivering packages to their beneficiaries.

A special thank you to PWC for allowing us to host the event at their offices as well as for the pastries, Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce for supporting us with this event. Also thank you to the Salvation Army, Pickfords, and Hilton Hotels for their presentations as well as Cllr Aga Dychton for attending the event on behalf of Watford Borough Council. We believe that this event will be the starting point for further conversations, workshops and discussions about ESV and if you would like to keep up to date with these events and all other events run by W3RT CVS, you can sign up for the W3RT CVS newsletter here.
