• Thank you very much for organising today’s event. It went well for us and I had a number of valuable conversations. We’re also hopeful for a couple of volunteers off the back of it.
  • We spoke to about 18 people who expressed an interest in becoming volunteer mentors. I would like to thank W3RT CV for organising the volunteer fair.

That is just some of the initial feedback from organisations who attended our Volunteers' Fair last Saturday. W3RT CVS works to promote volunteering within the community and helps support voluntary organisations with the recruitment of volunteers for their organisations. Therefore, each year we host a Volunteers' Fair in Watford with this year's event taking place at Atria Watford.

With the ongoing impact of the cost of living crisis, it was unsurprising that the Fair sold out instantly with 15 organisations attending the event and off the back of the Big Help Out campaign last month, it was brilliant to see over 250 members of the public coming along to the Fair and meeting the organisations in attendance. We were also delighted to be joined by local Councillors Nigel Bell and Rabi Martins who along with Dean Russell, MP For Watford, took time out to meet the organisations.

We believe this Fair to have been a huge success and hope that over the coming weeks, individuals who showed an interest in volunteering are able to join those organisations so that they can start making an impact within the community. Additionally, we would like to thank Atria Watford, Watford Borough Council and all of our partners for promoting the Fair across Watford.

If you were unable to attend the Fair but would be interested in finding out more about how you can volunteer within the Watford and Three Rivers communities, we encourage you to visit Golden Volunteer, W3RT's online volunteering platform. A link to the platform can be found here. Additionally, if you don't live in the W3RT area, we encourage you to visit Go Vol Herts to see a range of volunteering opportunities available across the county.

If you work/volunteer for an organisation that would like to use Golden Volunteer for your own volunteer recruitment needs, you can register for a free account by clicking here. The  CVS Team will then approve your account and can also help support you in ensuring your opportunities are tailored to your needs. Additionally, if you need any other support around volunteering, please do not hesitate to contact the CVS Team by emailing [email protected] and one of the team will be in touch.
