Dementia Action Week 2021
Together with partners across Watford, W3RT is raising awareness of and providing support to those living with dementia and their families with a series of events across the town during Dementia Action Week (17th-23rd May)
Monday 17 May - CathARTic CIC will be holding a creative art session at Watford Museum, from 1pm to 3pm, for people living with dementia (both those who have a diagnosis and their loved ones/carers). People attending do not need to be artistic to take part and it is free to attend. Spaces are limited and can be bookedby emailing [email protected] or [email protected]
Tuesday 18 May – Dining virtually at The Grove. Residents living with dementia and their families are invited to take part in a two course meal kindly provided by The Grove and to share their eating experience over Zoom. Spaces are very limited and people are advised to book via [email protected]
Wednesday 19 May – The hospitality students from West Herts College are running a charity fundraising event from 6.30 to 9pm. Residents will also be able to enjoy a three-course meal for £20. There are a handful of spaces left and these can be booked via Gill Crowson at [email protected]
Friday 21 May – Those living with dementia and their families are invited to the Forget Me Not restaurant at West Herts College from 11.45am to 2pm where they can enjoy a three-course meal for £6. Spaces are limited and must be booked via the college on 01923 812464.
Want to become a 'Dementia Friend'?
Home Instead Watford will also be hosting two virtual training sessions where you can become a “Dementia Friend”. Anyone can join the free online sessions to find out more about how they can help people living with dementia, spaces are limited. The details are:
